For your clinical rotation you will receive hands-on clinical training and hands-on experience at a number of Chicago-land teaching hospitals, community hospitals and office practices. 

Your US Clinical Experience Includes Externships/Clerkships that Provide:
  • Teaching Practical Medical Techniques
    • Suturing, Intubation, Colonoscopy, etc.
  • One-on-One interaction with attending physician
  • Electronic Medical Record Training
    • HIPAA
    • History and Physical Exam Note Taking
    • SOAP Note writing
  • Optional ACLS/BCLS Training
  • Improve doctor-patient communication skills
  • Participate in decision-making process for patients
  • Develop your Medical Judgment
  • Certificate of Evaluation of Performance
  • HOSPITAL Letters of Recommendation
    • LOR's specialized and unique to you will be provided based on performance evaluation.
    • The only LOR's edited by a Practicing Physician-Journalist.
  • Learn to do Case Presentations as required by Residency Programs
  • Interview Skills
  • Participate in Grand Rounds, conferences, lectures – time permitting

We provide Status Letter Requests for US VISAs

Contact us in advance in order to complete preliminary processing - drug screens, criminal background check, TB/vaccination records, Urine toxicology, etc.

TB testing is required to be within 6 months prior to beginning training. Toxicology screen and background check ($30) must be done within 30 days prior to beginning training. Vaccination titers and other lab work are offered at a discount rate ($300 for titers & urine lab work) if no records are available.

A lab coat and stethoscope are required by all students.

As a hospital requirement, we recommend starting the scheduling process 4 weeks prior to your anticipated start date. Hospitals will not provide you with an ID badge or access until certain paperwork has been provided and processed. We will discuss and arrange everything that you will need before scheduling the internship.
